The war is won. Oasis and the Concordat are at peace. Overwatch has been folded up again, this time made into an intelligence arm for Helix, under new - and the UN hopes better - leadership. The Gods are free - largely - to do as they will.

Brigitte discovers something impossible, something she never thought she'd ever see.

Reinhardt has seen the impossible before, and recognizes it.

Overwatch - or what is left of it - is at war with the Gods of Oasis. Russia is in a parallel war with itself, Katya Volskaya's government against the popular uprising led by the Aleksandra Zaryanova, the Goddess of Russia. As winter sets in, Zarya's March to Moscow has slowed to a crawl.

The old year has rolled out, and the new year has rolled in, as both Brigitte and her family struggle with her new reality.

Katya Volskaya's government in Russia has destroyed the omnium Koschei, and held their own against the Gods of Oasis. But with Jesse McCree having upset a precarious balance, Lena, Hana, and Sombra have intervened in Russia's rising civil war, and the fragile peace between Overwatch and Oasis has been shattered.

Reinhardt and Brigitte have landed in Bavaria on a lovely autumn day, and Brigitte must scramble to catch up on everything which has happened over the last several hours.

But covertly, the conflict carries on. The gods, after all, still have a plan, and will do what is needed - one way, or another.

With relations between Oasis and Overwatch on the rocks, it's far more difficult now for Hana, Lúcio, and Brigitte to get together. But that won't stop them from trying.

Alliances, it has been said, are at their weakest on the brink of defeat, and on the brink of victory. After defeating the China Sea omnium, the gods of Oasis offered their help to Russia, to defeat their own Siberian threat, and Russia accepted that offer - but made additional secret plans of their own.

Ah, Sunday afternoon. A cup of coffee, a bowl of cereal, a couple of eggs, some toast, jam, and the latest headlines.

Pretty good airtime on that eject, ne? Also helped finish off enemy Deevs. Sorry, fam, but it's the laaaaaaaaaaaaaaw of the west.

So last night, yeh? Comp. Lijiang Tower. I'm Pharah, we win in the garden, but barely - honestly, I'm surprised we win it. Then Night Market, and we're utterly crushed. It's the kind of thing where I go in with a barrage, kill four, and we still don't take the point.

So I change to D.va in Control Centre because our one tank switches off, and as we're in initial contest for the point, somebody drops.

But I realise we're 5 on 3 at that point because a couple of us are on comms and coordinating and go we can take this point. we can because at that point we should and I just want a moral victory.

And we do, right? We should, we're 5 on 3. But... then we just cruise. It's not even close. Suddenly we own them on every level, despite being down one. They can take the point from us briefly with ult stacks, but we retake it immediately next push, every time.

The amount of shrieking on the other team must've been truly legendary.

And... I still just can't get over the clear and obvious fact that we were a dramatically better team one player down than we were with a full stack, when the player who dropped was not an obvious griefer.

The new gods have risen, ready, at last, to grapple with a world of heroes. Moira O'Deorain herself has been reborn, now made one of the creations her previous self meant to rule, and she works with her wife - the goddess Mercy - and their ensemble of new deities to remake the world, to improve it... for everyone.
