I'm terrible - I mean, just garbage - and then I get three in one spawn just before this clip starts, and I'm still second to last, and then... well, I'm starting it here, because...

This poor enemy Widowmaker. Honestly. What did she do to deserve this? She's got a nice outright lead, then I kill her five times in a row, with no other kills in between. She spawns; she dies, at the hands of what has until now appeared to be an absolute garbage widow.

I can't even imagine how angry she must've been. It was hilarious.

This is where I started to feel like I was actually coming out of this slump. Not just because I have some good shooting in here, but because I didn't fall apart when I was in a position to win. I closed the deal. It's psychological, but then, what of this isn't, really?

solarbird: (widow)

Screw it - I've got a machine gun, my aim may be in the toilet lately but we can still win this.

I've been in one of the worst Widowmaker slumps I've ever been for the last couple of weeks. But I think I'm starting to come out of it. Games like this from Thursday are an example. (I'd embed it, but I don't think I can? It's on Twitch. YouTube won't let me upload it for some reason - no error, it just fails.)

Anyway, that was a straight-up first-place finish in Petra. It felt good, and... yeah. I needed that.

The fun bit starts at 7m 11s in, where I utterly destroy the enemy ult stack. I cancel Rein's hammer down, survive D.va's nerf, completely eat Moira's coalescence (through extensive use of bashy-bashy and my own rally), and smash Junkrat's tyre, all in rapid succession.

I think we can all agree that's a pretty good Brigitte run.

Offence and defence pair of quickplay games, at Rialto. I think I saved this mostly because they paired nicely, as if they were comp. (Both wins.)

Very up and down sort of game. Enemy Tracer was a massive problem - their Roadhog wasn't bad either - and kept them in it the whole time, and she was the reason they won the round they did. I needed to be above her to stay alive at all.

It's not too typical that you secure a victory this far from the point, but it really was the case this time.

My scoped accuracy was pretty bad early on in this (38%?!) but I got it up to respectable, and more importantly, I think I was reasonably effective. Could've been better against that Sombra, in particular, but... reasonably effective.

My housemate thought this was worth posting - pharah, booping Solder: 76, ulting Roadhog, rocketing Lúcio to hold the point 'til my team got back.

This was all good - a no-death first-checkpoint stand on Route 66 with some nice kills and taking out the last two survivors of the enemy team as the only survivor on my team (with some help from turrets) to clinch the victory - but the best bit is this delightful interaction with enemy Junkrat. Just... watch that part. :D

This was fun - a nice 18 kill streak. It only counted 16 of 'em because the double-kill from my bomb just after I died wasn't included, but I think it counts - I mean, it wasn't an accident or someone else finishing someone off, it was my bomb, and intentional.

I really like playing at Rialto. I'm not very effective to the first checkpoint - the team just wasn't in sync yet, I think - but after that, we come together quite well. There's a point - in the highlight I posted - where I take out both healers, including ulting Mercy, and I quite liked that.

I'm still dying too much - way too much really, I'm too aggro and she's not that kind of tank - but this felt really good, and felt like I had the right kind of rhythm with her. Particularly keeping a push going when a lot of our team died and had to come back from spawn. I'm also really pleased with bonking Roadhog into the graviton surge when after he'd dodged it.

Everybody else literally just quit. Or at least enough to trigger a cancel. ( ͡°⌓ ͡°) I was so mad - after an iffy start, I was feeling good, and was completely in charge, and everybody else just rage quit. Goddammit, I wanted that pip - I've got lootboxes to earn! (⌒▽⌒)
