Back in the day (or do they still do this?), radio stations used to offer a day as a roadie for some popular band or another as a contest prize.
So you're caller number 19 and you win... 18 hours of back-breaking manual labor, a chance to watch the sound check (which the artists may or may not participate in) if you're not smart enough to be taking a nap during the lull in actual work, a slim chance of getting close enough to any band members to even wave, and... hm... the food's actually pretty damn good, so there's a plus.
