Physical therapy update: the p.t. people consider my balance to be at about 98% of normal. I'd say more like 80, 85%, but that's for my normal, not theirs. Regardless, they're very happy with how things are going and really put me through a bit of a wringer today. Very zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz now.

Friday will be about stamina and strength; no idea yet whether it'll be the last day, we'll evaluate that then. Since we have co-pays and stuff all the way through, and money is an issue, it would be nice if it was. They also want me walking up and down the hill every day - at least to the bus stop, tho' down to the shops is also reasonable. On Friday I may likely walk down to p.t. and then get a ride back from lyricae who has been shuttling me around for days now and who I owe many thanks. (To wit: thanks! Many times! ^_^)

I've been looking over some LJ entries from the last month and wow I was way more fucked up than I realised I was at the time. And reading other peoples' journals, the whole time while I was out sounds pretty, um, awful for everyone concerned. So thanks to everybody who helped risu and annathepiper and spazzkat and who sent mail and flowers and stuff. And I promise I will do my best not to do anything like that ever again.

However, I do have to note with a bit of surprise, a bit of amusement, and a small but slightly larger degree of pride that while semi-conscious, on paranoia-inducing painkillers, and hallucinating, I managed to get my laptop to piggyback on top of Harbourview's wireless network through ssh tunnels and post to LJ. Not to brag or anything, but holy crap, maybe I actually am l33t - at least, you know, when heavily sedated and insane.

Mmm. Now that I think about it, that sounds somewhat like Science Related Mimetic Disorder. Note to self: do not try to take over Venus with robots.

Take care. Glad you are working yourself off of Official PT. Keeping after yourself for months until you get those last % is a given, but worth it. The fact that you are bouncing back so quick is a good sign.

Heh. I'm afraid we're kind of stuck with this crap until the politically-active Baby Boomers decide they're tired of re-fighting the 1960s and the Vietnam War. This is intensely stupid, but they're in charge now. I do my part to hamper the fundamentalists, but there's only so much one lunatic can do, you know?

Yeah, it's a really pretty tulip, isn't it? I'm not normally particularly fond of tulips - don't really know why, I'm just not - but this one had such pretty petals that I had to get a picture. I don't remember where I saw it, but it was maybe on the walk to the shops, along Goat Trail, or maybe on the walk down to the bus stop. (I'm kind of thinking the latter.) Almost certainly one of those two.

Pretty tulip, though I had a moment of 'waitaminute, wrong season' when seeing it. Old picture, or do they flower at different times in Seattle?

Yeah, all these flower pictures are from late spring and early summer. We had such a weird, super-dry, super-hot (for us) summer that there really weren't many flower opportunities most of the summer, and everything bloomed early and then vanished. I'm hoping we don't have a similar result for autumn - it's finally here but all the trees are still green! Apparently none of them saw it coming. Strange weather! But it was overdue, so that's good. We might even get thunderstorms today, that would be neat. We very rarely have those.

And hee I've gotten at least a couple of people hooked on A Miracle of Science, yay! ^_^
