steps and leafs

I've finally sent out New Year cards. An assortment of them will be late, but they'll be there. I was this close >< to bailing entirely, but they're out now, and I think I salvaged them - from an artistic standpoint, I mean - in the end. I'll try to make a photo post of one later.

(This has not been my finest round. The "holidays" are difficult for me under the best of circumstances, and this was not the best of circumstances. No, I don't want to talk about it, at least, not on open livejournal posts.)

Here, have a leaf picture before I go to bed; this one I shot down the hill at the park by the lake, that Burke-Gilman goes through right after it reaches Kenmore, rather late in October. I liked it:

Looks like concrete, orange and brown fall leaves scattered around. I can't identify the kind of leaf.

Oh, that one - that's one of the few I actually set up specifically as a desktop. The leaves are Japanese maple.

Due to the joyful way Windows has of simply titling it as "Windows Desktop", I'd have to dig through my archives for the original anyway. :-)

If I had any photographic talent (rather than just mooching off of Chris's), I'd do something similar with the local leaves. We want to do something like this for wall art for our spare bedroom (the Pumpkin Chamber) anyway.
