If you're looking for ring tone creation software, and your phone has a Yamaha chip (.mmf format files) - I'm guessing it may do since it's not the mp3 type - then some more Japanese software might help:

http://smaf-yamaha.com/

There's a tutorial there, although I should warn that it's really difficult to use anyway. The software takes MIDI files, which you need to create in any MIDI program, and converts them into MMF files. You can control all parameters of the synth voices, turn on the 'vibrate synch' feature for chosen MIDI channel, etc etc. :) You can also apply low-quality .wav files (.mmf allows for 8 channels of wavetable/.wav audio) for effects etc.

You might not be into all this stuff but it's kind of cool that the average mobile phone is on a similar level to the classic DX-7 synthesizer: you can have 16 4-operator FM voices (or 32 2-operator voices). Plus 8 channels of wavetable too... Anyway FM synthesis might not be most people's idea of fun but I thought it was cool to make disturbing noises with. :>
