Today was supposed to feature the big misogyny post, but instead – thanks to the bizarre and hideous images of MAGAts carrying around medical specimen bottles of fake JD Vance semen labelled “JD Vance Full Family Kits” – that post came out yesterday.
If you missed it, yes, they are literally doing this. I strongly recommend reading Sunday’s article, because what they’re doing signals shockingly violent intent.
Today, however – being my busiest day of the week – you get a few more elements I ended up not using, including a couple of thoughts that didn’t quiet fit.
One of the differences between this latest demonstration of loyalty and hatred – other than the vicious misogyny of it – is how it’s externalised, rather than internalised, in a way we haven’t really seen since maybe “fuck your feelings.” The direction of “Trump can grab my pussy” is towards themselves; it’s a declaration of loyalty. Similarly, the diaper-wearing corps and the fake ear bandages, though are both loyalty and imitation, but directed inwards, again towards themselves.
This one, though – it’s directed outward, at the enemy, which is us. That’s an important distinction, and is one of the changes that made me want to get the article out as soon as possible – even if I couldn’t find a way to include it. They are shifting the action direction of their loyalty declarations as the election grows closer; I’m pretty confident we’ll see more of that as we head into autumn.
Some of it will be directly violent, is what I’m implying.
I mentioned Christian Nationalist leader Joel Webbon’s move towards full-on opposition to women in public life a couple of posts ago. I mentioned in comments – and again, didn’t include in the main article – yesterday, this is kind of related to Trump-style misogyny and Vance-style misogyny. The Trump-style people don’t like the Taliban, and the Vance-style people kinda do, and if you get them feeling safe enough, they’ll admit it.
For no particular reason, have a timeline of events in Afghanistan in the 3 years since the Taliban’s takeover. The US public wanted out of Afghanistan. I would’ve supported staying until the end of fucking time to stop what’s happening now. The people – for better, or for worse – spoke on that matter, and clearly.
I spent a good six months in 1998 trying to get literally anyone to pay attention to the little experiment the Pakistanis were running in the North – the one called the Taliban – and failing. I kept at it but at a lesser concentration afterwards, again to no avail. Then just a few years later, they’re providing an operating base and sheltering the 9/11 crew and off we fucking went.
I sure hope we’re not going to rerun that shit again too.
Regardless.
Here’s a source on JD Vance’s statements about post-menopausal women being solely for child-rearing. And here is is saying women don’t care about reproductive rights and that caring about bodily autonomy isn’t normal. Just as background material.
And just in case you’re starting to focus this kind of misogyny on Vance in particular, here’s Royce White, GOP nominee for Senate in Minnesota, saying women are “too mouthy” – and a lot worse.
When I talk about this being the whole movement, it’s because it is the whole movement, because the whole movement’s political culture mostly comes out of the American fundamentalist movement, and they have always, always been like this.
Once in a while I’ll have someone argue with me about that, and then one or another survivor and escapee of the movement will step in and say some variation of, “No. She’s exactly right. About everything.” That is, in fact, a quote from an example last year – by memory, but it’s basically right.
Here’s today’s case of that, on Tumblr, in tags.

I am sorry. But it’s all real.
77 days remain.
