Genocide denial always happens during the genocide. It doesn’t wait until after.

Oh Gods, He’s RightI’d be stunned – stunned – if the Christian fundamentalist didn’t make this set of parallels. Get ready for another giant burst of Trump-is-Christ insanity from the Christian fash.

Marjorie Taylor Greene tells rightist media “America is over if we know it” if the investigations into Donald Trump’s violations of law aren’t halted. Necessarily, I link to Tucker Carlson telling his viewers to hold onto their AR-15s, Dan Bongino saying that the US is now a police state but only because of this, Glenn Beck back on for a hot minute saying Democrats are trying to start a civil war, Jesse Watters threatening, “The country’s not gonna stand for it, and people better be careful… that’s all I’ll say about that.” Here’s an MSNBC writer on how that endangers everyone.

It’s bad enough that the New York DA’s office is overtly demanding that Republicans cease interfering in a criminal investigation. Meanwhile, DeSantis is showing his subservient and obsequious nature and puffing his chest about extradition, but there’s nothing he can really do to stop it.

Another Idaho hospital has announced it will no longer deliver babies even as the Republican Idaho legislature keeps enacting more and worse laws. Young women need to get the hell out of Idaho.

Meanwhile, the Republican Kentucky legislature just override the governor’s veto and enacted some of the worst anti-trans and don’t-say-gay laws in the nation. There’s video at the link; it’s worth watching.

The Republican Kansas House has passed another round of anti-trans hate law, banning trans people from correct-gender washrooms, changing rooms, and forcing them into opposite-gender prisons. Unlike most of these, it’s not limited to trans kids; it’s all trans people of all ages. Moreover, it’s the first of these bills I’ve seen that explicitly attacks people born intersex, such as myself, including us in all that evil while simultaneously declaring us “disabled” and requiring that we can be “accommodated” with non-existent “alternate” or “third” facilities – or that we can be “accommodated” by being allowed to use Real Person facilities as long as someone stands outside and guards us.

They will make all of us illegal (again) if they can.

Nebraska Representative Michaela Cavanagh is going to need our support. She’s picked up more people with her ongoing filibuster even as they change the rules to try to make her stop. No matter what, though, they will come at her after all this.

Perry Bacon, Jr. – from Louisville, Kentucky – is cis and het, but is pretty sure Republicans want him and everyone like him to leave. He’s right. They want him to leave, and they want us to die, so I’m a little put off by the headline. But I appreciate that he doesn’t write the headline, because he gets it at the end.

In better news, a Federal judge has already temporarily blocked Tennessee’s S.B. 3, their big anti-trans/anti-drag law. Better yet, and a little surprising, the judge is a Trump appointee, which just goes to show you how very out to lunch these laws are.

They still hurt people, though. Which is the point.

Dominion Voting Systems won most of its case in a summary judgement before the trial even begins against Fox News. All the findings of fact are already flat out over, in the strongest legal possible terms. Chance the Lawyer goes into analysis on Mastodon. Crooks and Liars have more, and links to still more.

Musk Twitter, in his grand plan not to pay anyone, has been pocketing employee charitable donations. They’re calling it an error and saying it will be correct, no doubt now that it’s been caught.

Also in Musk Twitter, as announced earlier, Elon’s minions dumped “the algorithm” onto a public Github. Problem is, it looks like they also dumped in at least some chunk of the history, which means you can see in the history a lot of special casing around politics in general – and Elon in particular! The egomuppetry is unending and hilarious.

Twitter ad revenue is down 89%, according to Bloomberg. That’s also hilarious. But what’s not funny is Twitter actively pushing far-right hate and disinformation into its “For You” recommendations – the pushing of all that being exactly why Elon bought the hellsite. Apparently only around 5% of “legacy” blue-check owners are signing up for the new, pay-to-play “blue check,” which is 5% too many but hey, at least most people are saying no. As is the White House.

Finally in the sham Republican investigate-the-January-6th-investigation investigation, the first goal on Republican Representative Rep. Barry Loudermilk’s agenda was … exonerating himself. Of course, of course. As one does.

Let’s get this one out before April first, shall we? There’s nothing funny here.

A UK poll shows that 96% of young lesbians surveyed support trans rights. NINETY-SIX PERCENT. 96% of people aren’t even sure the moon landing was real. That’s the opposite of JK Rowling and the UK Fash, excuse me, no wait don’t, TERF brigade would tell you – but it’s all just lies. Never forget that.

Meet the newest fundamentalist authoritarian Q-anon-flavoured “rising star” in the GOP. He’s an anti-Semitic misogynist who overtly hates – and I do mean hates – LGBT people, passionately. And he won’t get anywhere because he’s Black.

Mother Jones has a writeup on a prominent anti-abortion and anti-vaccination doctor Dr. John Littell. It’s important to know these people, because people like them form the foundation of the rightist “cardboard science” crowd, generating bullshit dressed up in what looks like the scientific method. Anyway, he’s losing his board certification after spreading a lot of COVID disinfo, so his new career is almost certainly going to be cardboard science generation for Christian fascists.

The Daily Beast asks why anyone is still listening to JK Rowling. Rowling has adopted American fundamentalist patterns of lying about science, both directly and indirectly, in her false claim that transwomen have “male patterns” of criminal activity. What makes it specifically American Fundamentalist is that she full well knows she’s lying, but wants it to be true anyway, and uses the lie anyway, because it serves her agenda. She even did the old Christian Fash trick of linking to a study which directly opposed her claim, assuming no one would actually read it, and blocked replies pointing this out.

She knows. She’s doing it on purpose. This is what you are supporting if you support her properties, including the Potterverse. She says so herself.

Colorado – which features heavily in the history posts I’ve been making as an anti-LGBT state in the early 1990s – is emerging as a trans-friendly safe haven state in this decade’s war against us. See? We are winning.

Talking also about the 1990s coming back, ProPublica has a story on a very low-key very-far-right group working to to “‘crush liberal dominance’ across American life.” This wouldn’t be notable except for three reasons: 1) it’s headed now by Leonard Leo, who lead the Federalist Society to their Supreme Court takeover, and 2) a Chicago billionaire gave him over US$1B to drive all this, and 3) he’s standing next to Concerned Women for America representatives in the photo, and they are one of the most evil of the evil far-right Christian authoritarian groups out there.
