Let’s get this one out before April first, shall we? There’s nothing funny here.
A UK poll shows that 96% of young lesbians surveyed support trans rights. NINETY-SIX PERCENT. 96% of people aren’t even sure the moon landing was real. That’s the opposite of JK Rowling and the UK Fash, excuse me, no wait don’t, TERF brigade would tell you – but it’s all just lies. Never forget that.
Meet the newest fundamentalist authoritarian Q-anon-flavoured “rising star” in the GOP. He’s an anti-Semitic misogynist who overtly hates – and I do mean hates – LGBT people, passionately. And he won’t get anywhere because he’s Black.
Mother Jones has a writeup on a prominent anti-abortion and anti-vaccination doctor Dr. John Littell. It’s important to know these people, because people like them form the foundation of the rightist “cardboard science” crowd, generating bullshit dressed up in what looks like the scientific method. Anyway, he’s losing his board certification after spreading a lot of COVID disinfo, so his new career is almost certainly going to be cardboard science generation for Christian fascists.
The Daily Beast asks why anyone is still listening to JK Rowling. Rowling has adopted American fundamentalist patterns of lying about science, both directly and indirectly, in her false claim that transwomen have “male patterns” of criminal activity. What makes it specifically American Fundamentalist is that she full well knows she’s lying, but wants it to be true anyway, and uses the lie anyway, because it serves her agenda. She even did the old Christian Fash trick of linking to a study which directly opposed her claim, assuming no one would actually read it, and blocked replies pointing this out.
She knows. She’s doing it on purpose. This is what you are supporting if you support her properties, including the Potterverse. She says so herself.
Colorado – which features heavily in the history posts I’ve been making as an anti-LGBT state in the early 1990s – is emerging as a trans-friendly safe haven state in this decade’s war against us. See? We are winning.
Talking also about the 1990s coming back, ProPublica has a story on a very low-key very-far-right group working to to “‘crush liberal dominance’ across American life.” This wouldn’t be notable except for three reasons: 1) it’s headed now by Leonard Leo, who lead the Federalist Society to their Supreme Court takeover, and 2) a Chicago billionaire gave him over US$1B to drive all this, and 3) he’s standing next to Concerned Women for America representatives in the photo, and they are one of the most evil of the evil far-right Christian authoritarian groups out there.
