This is neat: Three different blogs are all reporting paid hit-and-run troll-commenters coming from organisations which are paid to hit blogs with talking points. I've gotten a couple of pieces of political spam - I just deleted another one on a Cultural Warfare Update from earlier this year - but none of them have been particularly trollish. Netvocates seem to be the main group involved in this set, but there have been others. Ginmar has apparently seen several of these, all defending sexual harassment at American Apparel. To wit: damn.

Still Not What I See

The camera often captures flower colours differently than I see them. This is as close as I could come to the actual colour of this flower, but to get it, I had to do stuff that made the green leaves almost phosphorescent. It's annoying, photographically, just because I don't really know what to do about it. I can't ever seen to fix it in photoshop, so I tend to settle for whatever looks good and go with it. But this one was particularly gorgeous in person, and just didn't photograph. Again. I don't know why.

I now have a Husky Card, which is to say, my U. Washington student ID. Also, the graduate department has pointed me at an advisor, even though I'm not technically even in the graduate school yet. I take this latter as a particularly good sign. Yay! And now it's time for math.

Courtesy [livejournal.com profile] ginmar again, this tiny house is completely adorable. The architectural firm which designed it sells the plans, too. ^_^ In fact, if you click on their "Plans" page, you get a whole bunch of examples of tiny houses and small houses, most of which I find myself liking quite a bit. In particular, I like the Backyard, the Bartlett, and the Pears and Cherries cottages a lot.

Also, and I had to edit this post just to add this in because it's that weird, 27BStroke6 reports on an amazing Windows Notepad bug here. How bizarre. Not damaging, just... strange.
