Courtesy ginmar again, this tiny house is completely adorable. The architectural firm which designed it sells the plans, too. ^_^ In fact, if you click on their "Plans" page, you get a whole bunch of examples of tiny houses and small houses, most of which I find myself liking quite a bit. In particular, I like the Backyard, the Bartlett, and the Pears and Cherries cottages a lot.

Also, and I had to edit this post just to add this in because it's that weird, 27BStroke6 reports on an amazing Windows Notepad bug here. How bizarre. Not damaging, just... strange.

Those house plans have a lot of tricks on how to get needed details into a small place.

What I find amusing: I've seen some of those tricks before. In custom motorhomes...some of those houses are nearly to that scale.

Have you seen the site with portable mini-homes? I think they're all designed to be towed behind a truck, but it's been a while. The smallest is large enough for a bed and a small kitchen, with minimal storage. You can buy pre-built, or just the plans, and they were rather more expensive than that (charming!) cottage you linked to. I have it bookmarked somewhere, but I have too many bookmark files. :)

I've seen one or two of those, but these are hypercool because they're really quite practical. Also, I love love love the design work you're seeing in them. They're really intelligently put together. That's what makes me go squee. ^_^

I'm not getting the NotePad thing to work, but I'm on WinXP Pro.

Anna did. I got it to repro on WinXP Home, too. There's no difference between Pro and Home editions of notepad.
