I've been sending out news collections to a mailing list. I've got a bit of a handle on things now, so I've back-posted a bunch of them to this blog. They're dated to match the days of release, so won't all appear in your reading lists now - you'll have to come over here and scroll down to read them.

This might end up just being for history, but who knows.

This wasn't RSS, it was my reading page on dreamwidth (or friends list on livejournal) - not a problem either way, though.

Apparently this did not work; I have a small flood of the "good morning, it's ___" posts showing on my reading list between this one and your post of 8:30 AM today ("manic pixie murder machine").

They're in their correct places if I look directly at solarbird. Dunno why it didn't carry over to the reading list (you'd think that a checkbox labeled "don't show on Reading pages" would be intended to have just that effect!).

That's my fault, see - it wasn't checked so I thought unchecked meant "don't show at all even if people scroll back" (and maybe it does mean that? but I didn't want that).

Basically, I wanted them to show up if you scrolled back in your reading list. I did not expect that to mean "dump them all up top."

I think unchecked means "stamp with alternate date, but treat as if normal date when ordering posts on someone's reading page," whereas checked means "stick it back in the past with the date you've given it" - I.e. "don't show right now", not "make completely invisible."

Well, for better or for worse, I don't have any more I plan to do this way (I don't think I've ever used this functionality before? Or if I have, not often!) but if there is a next time...

Thank you so much for compiling these lists! It means the world and helps me manage my anxiety, as I can go to one spot and see all the things going on instead of obsessively refreshing NPR.
