Rhode Island governor Donald Carcieri (R) vetoed a bill that would allow same-sex couples control over their partners' funerals, calling it an assault on marriage, or, his words, part of "a disturbing trend over the past few years of the incremental erosion of the principles surrounding traditional marriage."

I want to punch Mr. Carcieri in the face until he stops. That's not a treat to do so; just a desire.

Gahh..I agree with you on this topic! Personally, I would love to see someone file a lawsuit basing all of this on contractual law and see how they respond...(or has someone done this and I'm not in the know?)

so i've started this new bit of activism i heard about, where you call the heterosexually-privileged by their unprivileged-counterpart names:

"so, gov. c, how is your long-term companion?"

"you mean my wife?"

"i'm sorry, i don't believe in marriage for people like you."

You should stop, quiet yourself, and release your anger. Let it flow out of you. Anger is an unproductive emotion. Go with the flow. Don't make waves. Don't involve yourself in the concerns of others. Just focus on feeling peaceful and ignore that which disturbs you. Let your motto be "Que sera, sera"!

Should you find this course of thought difficult, look to me as your shining example of calm
