So, I guess once you have CD sponsors three and four it's time to make a mailing list? I dunno! Maybe! Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] maellenkleth and [livejournal.com profile] gytha_telchwyn, for being sponsors three and four!

Here's some of the equipment so you can see where your money is going:

I had one of the mic stands already, and the computer; I built the Fuzzy Monolith (gobo) from PVC and 20¢/sq. ft. carpet remnant, and bought the mics (M-Audio Novas) used at a pawn shop with a big musical equipment section up in SnoHOmish County, and upgraded the RAM in the computer, and bought the shock mounts for the mics new, and one of the stands. I'd already bought the little sound interface box with the bright blue LED (FastTrack USB Pro), and already had a few mics (not out in this pic), the other mic stand, the music stand, and cables and headphones, tho' I did buy new foam pads, because the old ones were nasty. Thanks!

It looks really nice! And you do get a warm feeling of "Damn, I did that!" when you mix your tracks together and hear the result.

So, how much does it cost to become a sponsor? And what, if any returns, are there from it? (sorry, but the dark side requires the second question)

that's a good use of the space, to be sure, although my caution of course asks just what will happen when the lovely little Japanese telephone rings?

well, there is that point.

now am asking self, of course: "Self, what happens if one patches the telephone into the FastTrack box and uses the bell as a percussion instrument?"

surely by now it's been done, along with the typewriters-as-percussion, and the syncopated-hammering sound track from the ITT Tech construction management advertisements that have been running on AM1000 lately.

*chuckles* I have seen/heard a typewriter done as percussion live... lovely redheaded geekgrrl name of Marian Call...

but then again, I've also seen (via WGBH Boston) a typewriter *simulated* by a symphony orchestra. Leroy Anderson conducted the Boston Pops in a tune *called* "Typewriter*... pizzicato from the violins for keystrikes, tiky tiky tiky tiky triangle "ding!" and Maestro himself, Arthur Fiedler (may he rest in peace) played the carriage return on this little wooden block standing at the back (audience side) of the podium while Anderson conducted. This was, gods, three-plus decades ago. Geekery before geekery was ever dreamed of being cool, all dressed up in concert blacks.

BTW, [livejournal.com profile] solarbird, how much did you say buy-in was?
