It's real, all right--there were reports of fireballs over eastern KY in particular Friday night, and it is suspected it's debris from the Russian satellite/Iridium satellite collision some days ago. (For the record, the Jackson weather office serves eastern Appalachian KY.)

There was also apparently a HUGE fireball late Saturday over parts of Texas--there's debate on whether that was an actual meteorite or more satellite debris.
