I'm sorry I haven't had a proper econ post this week; I should be able to get one out tomorrow, but it might not be until the evening. I've had tremendous amounts of music stuff going on this past week, and that's ... well, frankly, I love that. But it has pushed your Daily Dose of Down off to one side for the moment. And since I'm working on recording a demo CD this month (hello!) I'll be a bit less regular in my econ posts until that's done.

So don't worry, I haven't vanished - I've just got kind of a... day job. As a musician. Yeah, I know, right? It sounds downright silly to me, too. And yet.

eta: I don't mean to imply I'm making scads of money at this right now. I'm not. But strangely, I'm not making zero.

Well, the day job is way cool.

A funny reversal of the norm, working as an artist and writing econ for fun, but what the hell, getting paid to make music has to be one of the better day jobs possible . . .

I have yet to see more than fairly vague things on the stimulus and no time to look at details myself, so (and link me if you said this already and I missed?) thoughts on the stimulus package, or the Anglachel/Krugman/Wolf take on it?

You're not our Economics Morlock; don't feel guilty about indulging your other love. :)

Demo CD? C'est cool!

And, I know a couple of people who have managed to parlay music into a day job, and I think I can safely say this: If you manage it, you'll never be rich in dollars, but you'll always be rich in friends.
