Okay, this is possibly going to turn to rain today, and given the temperature rise I think that's likely. A lot of people are going "Yay! Rain! It'll wash all this away!"

Sure, eventually. But first, it'll make the snow really, really fucking heavy. And then it'll crush light structures with roofs or other large, flat, snow-collecting areas. We have over 30cm of snow on our front porch (over 34cm on grass) and I'm shovelling the porch off now, while it's snow and not waterlogged snow with an ice base, which is what it'll be tomorrow.

If you have carports or other similar structures, I strongly recommend you do the same.

also? get sand, or non-clumping kitty litter, so you can put nonskid stuff down on the inevitable icy spots after the freeze.

A couple of roofs have already collapsed around the area, and the city government in Bothell is warning people about it.

We don't have any light structures other than the outdoor shed that already has a partially rusted roof and is on its way out anyway.

Ya, That whole 'rain w/ snow' made me very frightful this morning.

Actually as I laid in bed thinking of how we are hearing snow fall on the ground with large THUDS.. Then my paranoid mind wandered to "are those THUDS actually CREAKS of the roof about to collapse on my and my child?"

Needless to say, I had enough adrenaline already pumping through my veins for an early morning. :)

Good idea to get out and shovel before it becomes a sheet of ice. I humored the idea this morning, but just didn't want to make the effort and I hadn't had my coffee. :P

Errr Ummmm. Like home roofs? Or light covered roofs?
Our neighbor had not been wiping off his tarp structure in the backyard so now it's a fallen structure. Ryan at least had the forethought of going out and periodically dumping snow from our tarp like enclosure.

Not to mention that rain on the heels of snow looks a lot like February. And February sucks ass with all it's fog and constant gray-ness.
