solarbird: (molly-tired)

If you're here looking for more politics posts from me, you'll be waiting a while. Possibly a lot of whiles, possibly not, I don't know, and right now, really don't want to know. Unlike most (tho' by no means all) of you, I had a pretty bad Tuesday; not because of the pounding the GOP took, which I think was necessary after the previous eight years, but because of the brutal facepunches queers took at the same time, at the hands of the same people who turned out for the most progressive-dominated election result since 1964. And the following victory jubilation, while effectively coincidental - the people I know who were celebrating were of course celebrating entirely different results than the ones I found so crushing - did not help.

So far, I've been genuinely unable to deal, emotionally; even writing this short note is fucking with my emotions pretty badly. Accordingly, I am ignoring as much of everything politics-related as I can, and am in general trying to pretend I live in another country, as I no longer like living in this one. Please do not IM or mail me arguing about this, or sending political news stories, or links thereto, or etc, even if you think they'll cheer me up or that I really, really do want to read them; when I say I really don't want to know, I mean it. (This should go without saying, but, obviously, I don't want or expect you to filter your own journals or self-censor your content in any way; you shouldn't do anything of the sort. Even should you be concerned about me, I'm perfectly capable of skipping over entries that bother me, and my problems are my problems, not yours.)

Economics posts will resume soon, but in terms of things I normally include in politics, well, you'll see me... when you see me. If then.
