The TED spread (think of it as a measure of interbank lending credit risk) suddenly shifted down just a bit to 4.07, after staying reliably above 4.20 for the last several days. If it drops below 4.00, that'll be a psychological boost; if it drops below 3.00, that'll be a huge deal.

Mind you, normal is 0.50-0.75 (really good times more like .25) and 2.50 is normally ALL HANDS BRACE FOR COLLISION!! but under these circumstances even a 3-handle would be good news, and 2.anything would probably be a watershed moment.

eta: now 4.04. (Yes yes, 404 rate not found, thanks.) This is a small but positive development.
