Oh my, lookie what
elfs found!
eta: Also, note what Bob Cesca found today.
eta2: Andrew Sullivan implies that an announcement - whoever it will be - will be tonight. But MSNBC is reporting the announcement is tomorrow. CNN reports a big McCain ad against Obama will air during Obama's acceptance speech and that the ad will be "unprecedented" but that the campaign does not specify how.

Date: 2008-08-28 08:22 pm (UTC)No idea if he's still there. He used to boast about his MASSIVE SCHWAB ACCOUNT so we nicknamed him Jim "Rico Schwabbie" Ward. What was ironic was how he would post to external message boards about his underwear fetish, USING HIS MS EMAIL ACCOUNT. Ah, those were the days.

Date: 2008-08-28 06:11 pm (UTC)Word going around bigtime that McCain will take Leiberman, and will announce that he is only going to serve one term.
The idea is that McCain will then pound away at the message of "im not going to be beholden to a re-election campaign that every new administration starts the first day in office...my entire focus for 4 years will be to fix this country and put it back on the right track".
The reason this rumor has gone around hot this morning was because they sent out poll numbers to major donors and the like, and within it are Leiberman testing, and one term testing.....and the numbers are through the effin roof.
Im not saying this is a given, but its a hot one right now.

Date: 2008-08-28 06:30 pm (UTC)Bit of a gloating, elitist a-hole snob in my eyes and he's not really public on the board with his real name, but every so often he shares a bit of information I haven't had reason not to believe. Those of us on the board generally know when he's just screwing with people by being insulting vs. saying something real.
Not sure if these numbers are state or nationwide.
(I know - politics on a basketball fansite? But there's been enough non-basketball talk that we had sub-areas set up for politics and other off-topic things)

Date: 2008-08-28 06:53 pm (UTC)But yeah, I wouldn't be saying it to you if I didn't think there was some truth to it. The Lieberman rumor is already gaining steam but it's more the 'four years only, no second term' part that could be even more interesting.
On the other side, the Obama camp could probably run with it as "Or 12 years of Bush-type stuff."
Re: Here's a bit more from someone who's done work in CA with people like...
Date: 2008-08-28 06:54 pm (UTC)And the guy said, "It would be fairly shocking, which i suppose is the point. Not likely, i agree."
