"We've secretly switched these patients' blood with Folger's crystals. Let's see what happens!"

By far my favorite SNL ad of all time.

Either not enough sleep or not enough snogging followed by enough sleep. Or some combination thereof.

Of course, I got nine frickin' hours last night and I'm still sleepy.

If you're getting solid blocks of eight or more hours of sleep and still feeling sleepy during the day, that's an indicator that you may not be getting into the "deep sleep" phase enough for your body to feel adequately rested.

I know that's a problem faced by people plagued with sleep apnea--they may sleep, but never sleep well because they keep getting disturbed back into a shallow phase before they've had a chance to transition into the deeper cycle, and a probable reason why people sometimes complain "I slept last night, WHY am I still tired!?"

This is the same time every day that I almost--and sometimes actually--fall asleep at work at my desk. Thank Metaphorical Deity I have my own office.

Something about circadian rhythms combined with accumulated sleep deficit.

Dehydration can be an issue. Are you drinking enough fluids?

Hey, if you're in Denver, could it be altitude sickness?

How about the smog? Or the combination of heat/humidity?

I've been very sleepy a lot too. The psychic malaise of the area here in DC can really bust some balls, but I think the neutrons in the collective have really been hopping the last two or three weeks. All I want to do is snooze!

So, maybe consider what's going on in the background of your life, and take into consideration what you've been up to. Some people need rest to wash away the slime of the group troubles and return to undiluted individuality.
