The signpost is next to this bus stop. There's no sidewalk, and no safe way to cross I-5 there, either. NE 205th sucks.

That's unfortunate. I love old semi-overgrown places.

And yeah, there are some ridiculously pedestrian-unfriendly places in the Seattle area. I've never really spent any time up there, but I head out to the Eastside fairly often, and parts of that are a nightmare to get around without a car.

Yeah. Basically, what happened is that I took the 331 to a shoe store to pick up the mink oil for my new drum that they'd ordered and said was going to be there for absolutely sure on Thursday. (It wasn't.) So then I missed the bus back by about 30 seconds (h8) and instead of waiting around bored for the next one walked around a little. But that sucked because NE 205th can blow me. And so can I-5. (No excuse for that kind of bullshit. None. The only good thing about it is that the way it's arranged, you could probably make a ped bridge that runs above 205th and under I-5, which would be kind of cool.) But I got a couple of good pictures, which helps.

*nods* even in my little neck of the woods, which is supposed to be very pro-Green, the sidewalks/bike access/etc. SUCK in some places. Particularly between me and the actual nearest bus stops. *grump* And we're not even technically Eastside.

OTOH, we do have a fair bit of semi-overgrown area real close here, including one patch where some coyotes have moved in.... for better or for worse...
