Implicit Association Presidential Poll
Feb. 15th, 2008 06:53 pmThis is kind of neat; what implicit associations do you have with candidates? It's a measurement of purely nonrational associations.
Perhaps predictably, I don't like any of 'em, but I really don't like Huckabee. (McCain, Obama, and Clinton are all in a little cluster at neutral, with McCain slightly higher than the other two; Huckabee is 'way down towards the bottom.)
Science tag included because it's a study.

Date: 2008-02-16 06:35 am (UTC)McCain and Obama are tied at neutral, with Huckabee a shade below. This doesn't surprise me. McCain is personable, but I don't trust him. Obama is charismatic, but I was skeptical of him for a long time before I made an affirmative decision to support him.
Huckabee was the wild card, as I find him personable and creepily evil at the same time. I think the results bore that out. He scored the lowest on implicit association, but still not that low.
And I actually think the presidential fields on both sides are much better than average this year, even though I have problems with all of them and particularly the Republicans. The fact that none of them score really low on implicit associations is consistent with that impression.

Maybe that just means I'm hella undecided. :b
