My caucus location had a really diverse turnout. Lots of African Americans out mostly for Obama, but also Latinos, Asians, lots of young voters, veterans, gay and lesbian voters of all generations. We only had two PCOs present for 14 precincts, though a husband of one of the PCOs was there to chair his precinct. That meant that we had 11 precincts where people with no history of party involvement volunteered to chair, and one of those was a kid who couldn't have been older than 18 or 19. There were people who registered to vote and were elected as Obama delegates, and five new people who've never been to a local Democrats meeting signed the PCO forms. That would double our current PCO representation, and more than triple the active membership. Hillary 's candidacy is certainly motivating some people, but I think it's Obama who's energizing most of the newer people who showed up.

The "LGBT" box on the form confused a lot of people, including one 50ish woman who asked about it and then wrote in "yes" after I told her what it meant(!) You'd think she'd know.
