Until I get a better title, it's named "Leaves tossed about by a breeze in autumn," and is mostly in 3/4 time. In its current - arranged out! - form, it clocks in at right about 2:30, as performed about five minutes ago. I'll probably monkey with it a little more, I'm not happy with the first use of the C section, which sounds truncated. (But I don't want to elaborate further yet. That's for the C' section.

Approximate construction, hum, A, A', B, C, B', C' (extended), B', a very short D (possible bridge location), a brief revisit to B', C' (shortened), A' (inverted), A''' (based on an inversion of A). Basically it unfolds, does its little thing, then folds back up, like an origami music box. The first C is where I think it feels truncated. But I'll think about that more in the morning.

Hopefully it doesn't suck. Hey, music people, if want scans or something before Sunday, lemmie know.

I still need a new music icon.

guh 3am. G'night.

Hee. I like little box tunes.

You may hate me for this, but I'm actually singing "Leaves tossed about by a breeze in autumn" to several different melodies in 6/8. :) Probably nothing like the composition, either...

(Original version of this chopped off the "U" in the quote. Hey, SUP, how about putting in a feature that lets users edit their replies, rather than having to delete and repost?)

There is a very old theory that I just invented, which states that any sentence or line written in dactyl meter is generally a good candidate for a 6/8 melody. :)

I don't know why, but I've always found music written in 6/8 to be easier to read* than that written in 3/4; one would think that they are fundamentally the same but I think working with 8th notes lends more flexibility. But to a point; I never found the same ease with music written in 9/8, which was popular in the late 19th Century.
