I used to love that when I was a little kid. I remember having little plastic diving men w/flippers and play-acting my own little silly scenarios.

Now, all I can remember well is the yellow, umm, baby sub explorer thing they would go out in, David Hedison and Richard Basehart, that there was someone named Sharkey and someone called Ski, and a talking lobster man.

And it had lasers, right?

And there was a giant octopus in one of them?

I haven't encountered Ski. I'm not sure about lasers. However, you didn't mention the evil leprechaun that took over the submarine.
