A B-17 "Flying Fortress" just flew over our house. TWICE. Really low, too! They're transferring it from Payne Field in Everett down to Boeing Field in south Seattle (according to the Times - [livejournal.com profile] spazzkat ran in after it was gone and checked) and apparently checking out some of the scenery along the way. Damn, that was cool. It was like right out of some old movie, only, you know, real.

Those things have some rumble.

This meme is annoying, because "gay" and "abortion" should not count towards "NC-17," fuck you very much. OTOH, "fuck you very much" might. Eh, whatever.

Your Score: quotation marks

You scored 53% Sociability and 64% Sophistication!

There is a lot more to you than meets the eye. You certainly get plenty of "action," but you'd be happier if those who lusted after you were more selective. You hate being used as a general intensifier; haven't these people ever heard of underlining? Italics? And yes, you remember the cruel words Mr. Joyce directed at you.

But you let none of this get you down; those who abuse you are destined for a "special" reward, sooner or later. You feel particularly warm toward periods, commas, exclamation points, and question marks, and usually wish to have them next to you. Parenthesis can sometimes trouble you.

Oooh, awesome! :D
I really miss living directly under the flight path of Paine Field. I was less than a mile away, and would see such awesome planes go right over my head all the time. Even all the li'l airplanes or the bigger standard jets would make me happy, just because they were so close to shaving the hair off the top of my head. Which personally I find exciting, not annoying. :P But we'd regularly see some pretty awesome jets and rare li'l airplanes fly overhead. Oh, I miss it. Sniff, sniff.

We're a few miles from Paine field, and this week we;ve been buzzed by a VERY low-flying 777 twice. Saw it was Air France the first time. Second time was at night- did not get a good look, but it lit up the yard with the landing lights real good :-).

Aww, I'm jealous! Hehe. My favourite memories of Paine Field-bound jets are from when I was in that QFC parking lot. They shave your head real good over there. Maybe I'll just go hang out in the parking lot for a few hours at a time to get my fill of low-flying planes. :P Any time I've actually visited the Paine Field observation area, I saw next-to-nothing. Maybe my timing is just poor.

I should probably mention that I grew up part-time very near Paine field with an ex-Air Force father who would sometimes get very excited by what flew overhead. That must be where I get it from. Hehe. Though I can't identify an airplane to save my life. He sure could, though.

My house now is really not all that much further away, but it sure makes a difference. I hardly see or hear any planes, and they're much further up in the air. Though now I derive strange pleasure from the sound of the freeway. Yep, I'm an oddball.

Probably Confederate Air Force (I think they changed their name a few years ago but I don't remember the new one). The also have the only flying B-29, to finding out if they're having a show at a local airport is definitely worth it. They even sell rides.

I took Joseph to the Museum of Flight today, and we saw several WW2-vintage aircraft take off, including your B-17 (which you can actually buy a ride in for $425). It was pretty cool. We watched from the fake air traffic control tower and Joseph was convinced that he had set their flight plan in the computer.

As I live under the down wind leg of Boeing Field, I get to see all kinds of things. The Collings planes, a B-17, B-24 and B-25 are doing the airshow circuit and while in Seattle, have been going up every hour or two, flying right over us jsut about every time. Wee.

Such things happen so often that I gave up photos years ago.
As just about everything that is non-commercial that comes through the region goes through the KIng Co. Airport, including military transiants and some of the logistics for Boeing, I could make snapping the ins and outs as a nearly full-time carreer.
