Sorry for the lack of CWU. School hate and other stuff is keeping me busy, but I've got one in progress. Meanwhile, here are a few ITEMS... OF... INTEREST!

This bicycle lift - kind of like a ski lift, but for bike riders - is extremely cool. I would like many of these installed throughout the area now, please.

You know that whole melanine/urea problem that's killing pets and entered the human food chain? Looks like there's a problem with drugs, too. Hundreds of people killed in Panama after a Chinese company substituted antifreeze for glyercin. The only reason thousands weren't killed here is that one particular pharmacist working for a drug company didn't think it looked right. The guy who made the decision has gone unprosecuted because apparently he didn't break any laws.

kathrynt's post here is a letter to Congress about the situation.

Gregoire signs bill rejecting national ID card, which means our own little inter-Cascadia passport-lite drivers' licenses will serve as border-crossing papers into British Columbia, but will not meet the Federal "Real ID" demi-national-ID requirements. The bill passed both houses without much opposition. Yay!

ursulav's parents are selling their house, which is a super-cool former church in upper New York State. If I lived around there I'd be all over that. ^_^
