The main storm hasn't even gotten here and our power is out, as is all of northern... and there goes southern... Kenmore. I think Woodinville still has power but I'm not sure. We're on battery now but that doesn't last long, so we're shutting down. See you when lights come back.

Our lights have been flickering for about 30 minutes and I suspect it won't be long before we're powerless as well.

And Lynnwood lost power around 11:30, but got it back sometime before 6:30.

Time to spring for a generator?

I, personally am giving this SERIOUS thought. Matter of fact, I was scrambling to figure out how to get a generator before the storm hit, with no luck.

You'd think by now that all the trees in Snohomish County near power lines would be gone.

Right before we lost power at 10:30pm, we had the WEIRDEST brown-outs. The lights would dim down and the fan on my HEPA filter would spin down and back up, but the television and Tivo stayed on. This happened at least three or four times before *POOF* there it went.

Back up at 4:47am, weeha

Think capacitors. BIG ones. :-)

More likely, only one leg of the three-phase coming into the house was affected, and only items on that circuit.

I have to admit, it was *cool*. Well, until the power went completely out, that is.

OUr power was out for about 12 hours, staring about mid-night and came back just after noon today(Friday).
Being in Seattle with SCL, real power outages are so rare and seldom last for any amount of time, that owning a generator isn't all that practical. This outage is the longest in my 27 years of being back in Seattle.
PSE and other outlaying service areas are not so lucky and are more prone to more and longer outages.
