Those pictures are gorgeous. I especially like the view facing west and the frozen lake. I wonder if the little birds feet get cold in all that snow? I put out extra food for our little guys, hoping it'd help them keep warm. I have to really fend off the impulse I have to lay out some kind of electric blanket for them, though. *laugh*

It's not actually frozen - the lake, I mean - it just looked that way. It has frozen before, but not in a long, long time - it's a very big lake so has a lot of heat potential stored up. ^_^ Still, if this week is an indication of what kind of weather we're going to have, maybe we'll be skating to the U. District sometime in January. Don't laugh, it's happened before - but not since 1910 or something like that.

Uplake, which nobody has ever heard of. It's at the very northern tip of the lake, in Kenmore. Most people, if they've even heard of it, think it's in Lake Forest Park, but Kenmore goes further west than people realise. (There are three Seattle neighbourhoods east of us, which is kinda funny. A lot more south than east, but still east.)

Dang gum it, the dauntless 555 Express kept running all week so I was never home during the daylight for pictures. Maple Leaf sure was pretty Sunday night.

I recognize that sunrise! Saw it from the bus.

Our busses kept running fine too, but the places we'd go were closed. I was like, "hey, I could make it..." @_@

The prettiest day here was probably Tuesday. It's really sticking around at MurkNorth tho' - when I left this morning, the front yard and garden were all still white, as was our roof. It was above freezing, but barely. The roads are mostly clear now, tho' - and completely clear at the bottom of the hill.
