solarbirdAnother piece falls into place: Slashdot is reporting that Homeland Security has to approve your leaving the country - as a passenger - as of January 14th. This doesn't apply to travel by car, apparently, but, well. Over here, you can get PDF of the Federal Register page talking about it and requesting comments. Here is a lefty site talking about it.
So we've got now, what? Executive ability to declare enemy combatant. Executive ability to torture. Executive ability to waive habeas corpus. Executive ability to declare martial law over the objections of governors and ignore posse comitatus. And now Executive ability to refuse travel outside the country. Thanks, GOP!
