...I think I just aced my first Japanese quiz. It was very easy (just the first hiragana quiz and we don't even have all the characters yet) and really everybody should have aced it, but, um, I've never done that before in any foreign language course ever that I can remember, so, um, yeah. It's kinda cool. ^_^

otoh, I could be completely on crack and have failed it utterly. Won't know for sure until I get it back. But, um... I actually think I kinda aced it.

Now I must go try to catch up on my bio reading before three hours of lecture and lab.

When I was in Okinawa, the hiragana and the katakana weren't that hard to pick up, in all honesty. I have considered taking Japanese classes myself, as I already have some, though not much anymore, experience and background in it. The hard part is when you get into learning the actual kanji, which is, if I remember correctly, something like 3000 characters in its entirety, and Japanese students continue to learn throughout their period of education.
