There's a coffee shop on the Ave between 47th and 50th on the construction side that also serves Korean food. It's called Sunney's and I recommend the bulgagi beef. Very tasty.


Almost Like Buckeyballs
Marketwatch's Paul B. Farrell says what everybody knows but few people are willing to say, which is that Americans are not saving (and are indeed going further into debt) at every age level because the US not only has no actual savings policy, but, at every level, from government to corporate, does everything it can to encourage more spending by everyone, and the only thing that's going to change it at this point is an economic punch in the face.

Meanwhile, Lawrence Kotlikoff says that the US is bankrupt, in the sense of there being no way in hell we can meet promised obligations over time. Fun.

I'm thinking Kotlikoff is underestimating how much of the economy would go 'underground' in the event of a national sales tax.

I also think he overstates the difficulty of reducing long-term Social Security pension obligations by stepping up the retirement age further, to 68 or 69, which is what'll likely end up happening and everybody knows it, or should.

I'd never had it before, so I don't know whether it was particularly good or not, but it was definitely very tasty.
