I went through a day's worth of April flower photography, and now you get results!

I like the composition here, a complete accident but it works; I was just trying to shoot the flower. ^_^ I just wish it looked less like a flash photography shot. I mean, it is flash photography, so of course that's what it looks like, but I hate that.

Moderne Photography

It was taken in the coffee shop at the Sea-Tac Doubletree, during Norwescon. The fact that it was taken in a coffee shop really just kind of adds to it - I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I can totally see in my head the deco-era poster based on that photograph.

Anyway, that was taken mid-April. The below was taken a few days before, in a planter on the north side of the yard, where I've since added herbs. Yay, herbs!

Reaching Up

Today has mostly not been interesting to anyone but me. Stressy and hot (stupid hot), but not interesting. I did a fair bit of housework, and some research. We have sparkly clean windows all along the back now, on the main level. SPARKLY CLEAN!

Yes, good composition, accidental or not. I also hate flash photography (to the extent that I barely know how to work the flash feature of my camera - well, I know you push the button to pop it up but that's as far as it goes, I don't know anything about exposure or whatever).

Of course, it doesn't help that built-in flash is much worse than *real* flash, which you can fit with diffusers and suchlike... but I don't like even that, kind of taking the opinion that you should only ever use flash in daylight. :)

But it works well for that pic, the faded-out shadow line is nice.
