it's strange
Apr. 26th, 2006 10:54 pmIt's honestly kind of disturbing how little the playlists of rural New England high school radio stations have changed. And by that I don't mean "same kinds of music," by that I mean the exact same music, only with a few additions now and then. I mean, sure, +5 for nostalgia, but yikes.
Tuesday's token: 0.3 miles
Wednesday's miles: 14.9 but not catching up with

Miles out of Hobbiton: 747.4
Miles out of Rivendell: 287.6
Miles to Lothlórien: 178.8
Biked and bussed to my dental appointment, then biked to murksouth and took care of a couple of errands there - I tried to say hi
mamishka, but you were on the phone! - and then biked and bussed to McLendon's in Woodinville where I have succeeded in buying a very traditional-looking 6 quart metal watering can before biking home with it in my backpack. It was even made locally, which is almost freakish at this point for a mass-market item. The scattering head is much nicer than the old plastic one, even before the plastic one started disintegrating. So yay.

There was a crazy person on the bus to UW today. He got on and didn't pay fare, pretending that he was going to the hospital because of chest pains he clearly did not have, as he stopped talking about them entirely after he decided the bus driver wasn't going to force the issue. Once the bus got going, he started talking about being nice to the bus driver, and then he started talking about how love spelled backwards is evol and how Jesus is strong and you should never believe anything the devil says. Then when a lot more students got on all at once, he started talking about how attractive they were.
The crazy person quota in general seems up a bit lately. Mostly they haven't been on my busses, even. Strange.

Date: 2006-04-27 10:10 pm (UTC)Including the guy who paralleled me for 3 blocks on the other side of the street yelling at me about how he wanted a fight and that if he had a gun he'd kill me.
I didn't even notice him at first because I was plugged in to ipod and just kept hearing this distant yelling. After I actually noticed him and realized his attention was on me, I turned off the ipod to listen and he was pretty violently crazy. I was making for a coffeeshop a couple blocks away and hoping to get in side when he started crossing the street toward me...a car came and he started yelling at the car (apparently he just wanted to yell at anything that was moving), and then he finally veer off down a side street, still yelling a constant stream of threats.
That's only the most exciting of the crazies. But I've been seeing a lot of it lately.
