BoingBoing says that Marvel and DC are trying to trademark the term "Super-Hero," and suggests henceforth that characters owned by those companies be referred to as "underwear perverts." I can do that.

That's catchy. I could get behind that. Marvel and DC Underwear Perverts. It has a nice ring to it.

This is actually a renewal. They first did this over twenty years ago, and have since allowed others to use the term without fee, in order to keep some sleaze from doing this and charging everyone.

In short, this is maintaining a precaution which has been around for decades, rather than some new corporate scheme.
