okay, that's weird

My kitchen timer now makes two different tones instead of just the one, and does so in a random sequence which sounds like an alarm sfx noise from a bad superhero movie. I fully expected that a secret door would open as soon as I hit the buttons to shut it off.

The door I use to get into the building at work has a normal RFID security card reader. Usually it has a green light on it. When I brush against it with my trouser pocket that has the card, it beeps, flashes the light, and unlocks the door so I can go in. Fine.

But last week for some unknown reason it had an orange light. When I used my card it still unlocked the door just fine and otherwise seemed to be working perfectly... but instead of the ordinary beep it went 'doo dee dee' (low, high, high) (or something like).

Anyway it was mildly entertaining while it lasted. Sadly it has now gone back to normal. Weird. :)

I reset the timer and had it go off again and it didn't do it the second time. Or the third. I guess it's back to normal, too. I'm sad!
