Date: 2006-01-27 06:41 pm (UTC)I ripped out a nonzero amount of blackberry, but I'm not anywhere close to getting rid of it even in that little area. My goal is to make it up to the edge of the large retaining wall this year, and to get a couple of trees planted on that part. Hopefully that'd help. That's not a huge wonking tract of land I'm talking about here, but I still think it's as much as I can add on my own, with all the regular maintenance.
(Basically, last summer was "reclaim the areas they'd actually planted out," which had started being seriously overgrown with horsetail and other weeds. That's the big goal this year, too; finish that job. It'll take a couple of years. Added this year is "one or two small raised vegetable garden beds," maybe - maybe! - the front garden stairwell I want to put in, and reclaiming this little chunk of back yard. On the other hand, if I win the lotto, all bets are off. I have much bigger plans if that happens.)
