I'm working on a new install on our web server box right now. I gotta say, the Debian 3.1 net install is leagues ahead of the 3.0 install. At this rate we'll have net services up and running again by the weekend. Maybe tomorrow, even, tho' I don't want to schedule work for other people who are not me who get to do the apache setup.

(Plus it's got another 90 minutes or so download time for the module set it wants to suck down. Much slower than off CD. But also more current. Tradeoffs, tradeoffs. At least they have nice fast servers. 91.9KB/s average so far, which is pretty good.)

Yay! Also, for longestnight, I made sukiyaki from scratch following its instructions. "Quick and easy" not so much. Well, really, mostly not "quick." The stove-top portion was fast, but the prep took forever. I suppose, though, the actual cooking was easy, so they were only half wrong. ^_^ The most difficult part - where they suggested you might buy pre-mix - was the frying sauce, and I really don't understand what was supposed to be difficult about it. Measure, mix, use. Done.

Anyway, hopefully we'll have web again by the weekend. Fingers crossed.
