Despite being up to date on security patches everywhere, it looks like someone broke lodestone. I don't know or really even care very much how right now, I'm too tired and pissed off to deal with it any more than I have. Our web services are offline just in time to fuck some things up and I have no ETA for their return.

The machine will have to be flattened and rebuilt. I won't be starting this tonight. I probably won't start tomorrow. We should be able to start on Tuesday.

If anyone has a better long-term solution for this kind of situation, please let me know.

I wish I could help, but you clearly have much more experience with this sort of thing than I do. (I'm still in the A+ certification portions of my computer networking and security classes.) For what it's worth, my thoughts are with you, and I hope the matter gets resolved quickly and with a minimum of further trouble.

In these situations I find it's best to perform a three-step process.
(1) yank out all network cables
(2) drink heavily
(3) give up on computers and become a shepherd

I still haven't gotten through step three successfully. Steps one and two feel great, though.

Seriously, though, that sucks. Best wishes on getting everything operational and secure again.
