Same tree as the middle picture yesterday; I probably took too many pictures of it. But this one is better, regardless, I think. I got better levels.

This was a different day, but, as I may and may not have mentioned, we live up the hill from a seaplane-only airport, which is why directions to our house include "by seaplane" and also "by orbital drop." I took a shot of a plane flying overhead - it had taken off going the other way before circling back around to head south. Someday, I want to get a picture of a plane on the fairly rare approach that involves flying in the valley between our hill and the next hill over, which means that as the plane flies by our bedroom windows, you're looking down at it. Someday, I will get that shot, which is really cool. Until then, you've only got the looking-up view, with all kinds of levels tricks to make the plane more visible because the lighting was so difficult:

In school news, I've got almost all of my external paperwork in order; as soon as I get confirmation from somebody, I'll have my third recommendation. Then I might end up with four, which wouldn't suck in the slightest. After that, I just have to edit together a CV and statement of purpose (gosh, think that'll be important?) and it'll be ready to go. Yikes!

One of the places those seaplanes go is Friday Harbor:

I recall a nice moment on I-5 passing Boeing Field when I realized my car was holding formation with a B-17. Then I "climbed" above and overtook it.

Good luck on school! Um, yeah, I think the statement of purpose might be a tad important.... ;)
