cats and cold

It's pretty cold outside; we may finally get some frost tonight. It's close to 1.5C behind the house, and falling pretty quickly, and there's not a cloud in sight. That's definitive cooling weather, and we're already close to our projected low; how much further down the temperature goes will depend upon whether the predicted fog rolls in.

The experimental Isis system at UW, meanwhile, has been updated with cooler temperatures (NOAA doesn't share them, yet) and claims just over a 50% shot of freezing overnight.

We saw some amazing views of distant mountains, today; where there weren't clouds blocking the line of sight, the air clarity let us see distant mountains we usually just can't see at all, peaking out from behind other mountains and very large hills closer in. So far, there's a lot of snow building up out there - hopefully that'll keep going over the winter. Maybe I can go skiing again. ^_^

I have no real point here; I just like the Evil Other Cat. ^_^ Polly hates this other cat with a passion reserved only for, um... other cats. Being me, I think this is funny.

I wonder if it's related to the Evil Other Cat in Amherst, who Delerium hated with the heat of a thousand fiery suns. They'd have these screaming battles at 2AM, one on either side of the window screen. The first time I was sure she'd somehow gotten trapped in some painful manner in the kitchen, only to find her sitting in the window screaming "IMA GONNA FUCK YOU UP BAD" at the Evil Other Cat.

I had to throw water at them to break it up. I've never seen her so pissed.

Evil Other Cat is twice Polly's size. I'm pretty sure he's just out there watching the muppets on our TV. Polly will jump at the window and make scratchy motions with her poor declawed paws but Evil mostly just sits there and looks at her like "Hey could you like, not block the TV and stuff".

Well, Not So Evil Other Cat..I feed a stray that sort of hangs around. he won't let you pet him, but won't run when you go out the door. Has the occassional Window War with my 24 pound Calico...Scott
