Walgreens' Wayward Wisdom -- Supporting Gay Games
By Randy Sharp
October 21, 2005
http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/10/212005gst.asp
(AgapePress) - Someone at Walgreens deserves a huge bonus for the idea to increase sales by helping drive events that result in the need for the company's drugs.
Next July, when the 2006 Gay Games take place in Chicago, historical precedent promises that homosexual encounters will take place by the thousands, in bars, public parks, and shopping mall restrooms. The Gay Games Social Committee almost guarantees it by stating on their website: "Chicago's LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender] scene is fierce no matter what time of year it is, but during that one week in July 2006, we are committed to making sure you have the time of your life."
This is where Walgreens' profiteers put their heads together to insure they get their piece of the pie.
No doubt large numbers of gays will become exposed to HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. A glance at online pictures from past Gay Games' nightlife is a clear indication that the party scene is designed for "hooking up," with casual and anonymous sex in mind.
Walgreens must be salivating at the prospect of new customers this will create.
And how better to become the official "drug dealer" of the Gay Games, than to donate $100,000 and become the top sponsor for incredible exposure? It's a brilliant marketing investment!
I imagine the sales pitch in Walgreens' corporate board room went something like this: "We know people are going to be spreading communicable diseases and a lot of them will eventually become very sick. If we show support for gays now, we stand to reap a ton of business in the not-too-distant future. Let's call it 'Walgreens' HIV/AIDS Awareness' so they'll think of us first when they need drugs."
Why else should Walgreens want to be a "Premium Level" sponsor of the Gay Games? To stay in business, they rely on people getting sick. The Gay Games are sure to supply an unprecedented concentration of candidates for this niche drug market.
The Gay Games will be a breeding ground for what Walgreens needs -- diseases that cause illnesses that require high-cost, high-profit drugs. They're making sure they capitalize on others' despair by supporting events that guarantee them a high yield return on their investment.
Smart people, that Walgreens bunch.

SUMMARY: The network serving American service members
accused of discriminating against left-leaning voices.
More than a dozen U.S. senators are demanding the Armed
Forces Radio Network (AFRN) add liberals to its
programming lineup.
A letter signed by the group notes the AFRN carries the
likes of Rush Limbaugh and Dr. James Dobson, but not their
left-leaning counterparts.
One liberal talk show host, Ed Schultz, is especially
upset. The AFRN was considering airing his program, but
pulled the plug on the deal at the last minute, perhaps
because of his repeated criticisms of President Bush.
Military commentator Bob Maginnis said Schultz would
likely have raised the hackles of our fighting men and
women by taking shots at their commander in chief.
"The vast majority of military members tended to vote for
President Bush," Maginnis told Family News in Focus.
"Anyone that consistently bashes the president is probably
not going to be favored."
[...]
Maginnis, however, said the administration has the right
to keep liberal anti-war rhetoric out of the combat zone.
"Clearly the Pentagon is controlled by the Bush
administration," he said, "because, after all, they were

Renegade Mayor Loses Appeal in Gay Marriage Fight

NEWSBRIEFS
October 28, 2005
[Received in email; no URL]
A New York State appeals court on Thursday ruled that New
Paltz Mayor Jason West violated the law when he attempted
to solemnize same-sex marriages in the town.
In July 2004, West made up his own marriage application
for same-sex unions and began to solemnize gay marriages.
After he was ordered to stop by a state court judge, he
appointed two village trustees to take over, and they were
ordered to stop by the same judge.
About two dozen homosexual marriages in all were approved.
West filed an appeal based on his belief that it was
unconstitutional to deny homosexuals the right to marry.
The appeals court opinion stated that West's "actions
implicated a core constitutional tenet; that is, the
separation of power."
"West robed himself with judicial powers and declared the
marriage laws of this state unconstitutional," the court
wrote. "Having concluded that the Legislature violated the
constitution, he then wrapped himself with that body's
power and drafted his own set of documents for licensing
marriages. In so doing, he clearly exceeded his role as a
village mayor."
Mathew Staver, president and general counsel of Liberty
Counsel, said West's actions were an attempt to undermine
marriage.
"Renegade mayors and rogue public officials do not have
the authority to violate clearly established marriage
laws," he said. "Preserving marriage is the social battle
for this generation. Our social stability hangs on the
strength of families."
When families are weakened, Staver added, our communities
become unstable and children are harmed.
"The people must decide this issue once and for all by
passing state and federal constitutional amendments to
protect marriage as the union of one man and one woman."

Who Cares about Homosexual Marriage? God Does!
Concerned Women for America

By Dr. Dennis Kinlaw
It’s time to let Him back into the discussion.
http://www.cwfa.org/articles/9249/CWA/family/index.htm
Recently, a doctor friend of mine told me of a conversation with a colleague about the present debate over homosexual marriages. The colleague had said: “Well, who really cares? It really is a private personal matter, isn’t it?” My friend was not sure how to respond. He was a bit caught short when I suggested, “God cares!”
Today the whole question of this change in the understanding of the nature of marriage and of human sexuality is discussed from numerous angles. For some, the conflict is a moral issue; for others, a legal or political issue. For still others, it’s a matter of changing social customs and a social institution. If no intelligent Creator God made all things nor had rational purposes when he designed us, then such thinking is understandable. With no design in life, we are left on our own. If, however, there is a God who intentionally made us male and female, then he really should not be left out of the discussion. In fact, what he thinks may be the missing element in all the confusion, the key we need in the chaos. If the Bible is correct, human sexuality and marriage are more theology than biology, sociology, law, or even morality.
The Biblical story of creation gives us remarkably suggestive indications of an approach to the whole matter that is very different. It lets us know that our sexuality, from its point of view, is not the result of impersonal natural evolutionary processes. Rather, it is part of the blessing of God given with a loving concern for eternal good.

School board cautions against offending Wiccans
'This is unbelievable': Halloween a 'traumatic shock' for some children

TORONTO - Teachers should forego traditional classroom Halloween celebrations because they are disrespectful of Wiccans and may cause some children to feel excluded, says a Toronto District School Board memo sent to principals and teachers this week.
"Many recently arrived students in our schools share absolutely none of the background cultural knowledge that is necessary to view 'trick or treating,' the commercialization of death, the Christian sexist demonization of pagan religious beliefs, as 'fun,' " says the memo.
Entitled "Halloween at TDSB Schools: Scarrrrrry Stufff," the document seeks to clarify for teachers and principals the extent to which Halloween activities should be pursued in multicultural settings. In the past, the unsigned memo laments, schools have received "mixed messages" from the board regarding Halloween.
School board officials could not be reached for comment last night.
Citing calls by concerned principals and parents on the subject, the memo aims to make classroom Halloween celebrations consistent with the board's "equitable schools policies" and warns that "some students and their parents/ guardians might experience their first Halloween not as a 'strange surprise,' but a 'traumatic shock.' "
The memo goes on to remind teachers that, "Halloween is a religious day of significance for Wiccans and therefore should be treated respectfully."

October 28, 2005 – The homosexual activist movement and organized pedophiles are linked together by a common goal: To gain access to children for seduction into homosexuality.
Homosexual activists deny that they target children for seduction into the homosexual lifestyle, but the evidence is overwhelming that this is a lie.
There is an ever-increasing effort among homosexual organizations to target public school children, to abolish age of consent laws, and to publish “studies” that purportedly show that adult/child sex is not harmful.
The following reports provide clear and convincing proof that homosexual pedophiles (called pederasts) want children. Homosexuals should not be given special federal protections under “hate crime” laws; they should not be free to promote homosexuality in public schools; nor should they be allowed to marry or adopt children. Many homosexuals are sexual predators who prey on children.

October 27, 2005 – Your two U.S. Senators need to hear from you today in opposition to a homosexual/transgender hate crimes language that may be attached to S. 1086, the Sex Offender Registration And Notification Act or other legislation such as the Streamlined Procedures Act of 2005.
In the House, Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) attached a hate crimes amendment to the Children’s Safety Act, designed to strengthen laws dealing with sexual predators.
The Senate may add hate crimes language to upcoming legislation. Action needs to be taken to continue to educate Senators, Representatives and their staffers on the serious dangers of including sexual orientation and gender identity to current hate crime laws.
TVC’s newly revised hate crimes report includes the latest statistics on hate crimes and 25 reasons why you should oppose any pro-homosexual hate crime legislation. This list was written by Dr. Robert Gagnon, Professor of New Testament at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He is author of Homosexuality and the Bible: Two Views.Dr. Gagnon’s web site includes more information on the dangers of hate crime laws and Bible-based information on homosexual behavior.
Read and distribute TVC’s updated and expanded “Hate Crimes Legislation: Unequal Treatment Under The Law.”
TAKE ACTION: Send a link to your Senators and Representative and ask that they oppose passage of hate crime legislation that creates protected minority status for homosexual behavior, cross-dressing, or transsexualism. Use TVC’s CapWiz service to email your legislators: http://capwiz.com/traditional/issues/

'Marketing of Evil' meets Family Research Council
Listen online to David Kupelian's sizzling interview on D.C. show

Interviewed about his acclaimed new book, "The Marketing of Evil", WND Managing Editor David Kupelian will be the featured guest Saturday on "Washington Watch Weekly," the Family Research Council's nationally broadcast radio show.
Hosted by FRC President Tony Perkins and news correspondent Wendy Christian, the 30-minute show, which typically features interviews with congressional leaders and pro-family Washington insiders, airs every Saturday and is also broadcast through the American Family Radio Network, Bott Radio, the KTLW Radio Network and independent Christian radio stations across the country. Readers can find a local station that broadcasts the program, as well as air times, on FRC's website.
[...]
"The Marketing of Evil" – subtitled "How Radicals, Elitists, and Pseudo-Experts Sell Us Corruption Disguised as Freedom" – has consistently scored high on the Amazon charts since it was launched in late August on "Hannity & Colmes" and the "Sean Hannity Radio Show."
According to "The Marketing of Evil," Americans have come to tolerate, embrace and even champion many things that would have horrified their parents' generation – from easy divorce and unrestricted abortion-on-demand to extreme body piercing and teaching homosexuality to grade-schoolers.
[...]
"David Kupelian dares to tell the truth about the overwhelming forces in our society which take us far away from our original American concept of freedom with responsibility, happiness with commitments, and traditional values. 'The Marketing of Evil' is a serious wake-up call for all who cherish traditional values, the innocence of children, and the very existence of our great country." – DR. LAURA SCHLESSINGER, talk-show host and author
"It's often said that marketing is warfare, and in 'The Marketing of Evil,' David Kupelian clearly reveals the stunning strategies and tactics of persuasion employed by those engaged in an all-out war against America's Judeo-Christian culture. If you really want to understand the adversary's thinking and help turn the tide of battle, read this book!" – DAVID LIMBAUGH, syndicated columnist and author
"David Kupelian's research brings into sharp focus what many have sensed and suspected for a long time: The effort to change America's mind on issues like abortion, homosexuality, church-state separation, and more, is a well-thought-out strategic campaign that uses the methods of Madison Avenue to market rank lies. But the good news is that the truth will eventually win out, and Kupelian's important and groundbreaking book makes enormous progress toward that end." – D. JAMES KENNEDY, Coral Ridge Ministries
"Every parent in America needs to read this book. David Kupelian skillfully exposes the secular left's rotten apple peddlers in devastating detail. From pitching promiscuity as 'freedom' to promoting abortion as 'choice,' the marketers of evil are always selling you something destructive – with catastrophic results. Kupelian shines a light on them all. Now watch the cockroaches run for cover." – MICHELLE MALKIN, Fox News Channel
[...]
"Did you ever want to know – I mean really know – how and why America is being transformed from a unified, Judeo-Christian society into a divided, false, murky, neo-pagan culture? Even if you think you know the answers to those questions, in fact, especially if you think you know the answers, you must read David Kupelian's 'The Marketing of Evil.' So clearly does it expose the incredible con game to which Americans have been subjected that it offers real hope – because when our problems come this sharply into focus, so do the solutions." – JOSEPH FARAH, WorldNetDaily

Use TVC’s CapWiz service to email your legislators: http://capwiz.com/traditional/issues/

...hate crime laws threaten religious freedom and freedom of speech by criminalizing criticism of homosexuality or transsexualism. Pro-homosexual hate crime laws will inevitably result in the persecution of Christians who oppose homosexual conduct for moral and health reasons!

Date: 2005-10-29 07:21 pm (UTC)As for another--well, god obviously created homosexuality, as they say he created everything. But again, we get to my fundamental problem with the christian god--he's one of those people who sets people up for failure. "Don't eat that one apple." If you REALLY don't want someone doing something, you don't put it in their way, nor call attention to it, in the first place. It's one of the fundamental things you learn when babysitting/raising children. God is a creep who WANTS to punish people, stacks the deck against everyone. Eve was framed is my expression of disgust with the whole thing.

Traditional Values Coalition

Download and distribute these reports to your state and federal legislators, community leaders, pastors, and associates>
What the hell???? What about all the girls who are raped? 85-98% of pedophile/rape/sexual abuse victims are girls. 90 to 95% of pedophiles are men. Whatch an eppisode of L&O:SVU to see what I mean. Damn Fundies.......

Date: 2005-10-31 02:46 am (UTC)Anyway, a typical Paul Cameron study involved finding a sample set that would represent the conclusion he wanted to reach. This is a standard methodology in this environment. For example, he once interviewed nine life-sentence repeat sexual offenders - the worst he could find - who had had any same-sex sexual history. He then presented a study detailing some of their offenses and talked about them as a statistically valid representation of homosexual men.
Another common tactic is to take statistical noise and represent it as critical data. One Paul Cameron study claimed that most gay men regularly consumed the fecal matter of their sexual partners. This got represented in the fundamentalist media as "many gay men enjoy eating feces" in the mid-90s. Using the exact same methodology he used, I can demonstrate that most Americans regularly fondle the fecal matter of total strangers, and carry cocaine and other illegal drugs with them at all times... because of the trace contaminants found on paper money.
That's how this game works. Truth is whatever furthers their religious beliefs. Falsehood is whatever contradicts them. If the fundamentalist movement says the sky is blue and I can see sunshine outside, I'm going to go check, because the mere fact they say it means there's a good chance it's a lie.
