boring

Tonight we're going to go see the new Wallace and Gromit movie. Yay! I don't really have any other news, though. My life has been kind of boring, honestly; yesterday was "clean up the two gallons of paint some jackass flung around at random on the street near my studio" (at least, as much as I could; I phoned a bunch of things in to the city), housecleaning, data gathering, and trying to whack a reasonable description of IMAP4rev1 into 1500 words.

I mean, obviously, I can't, but I think I can get a decent overview. But mostly I've had a really, really lame couple of days. Blah. And while I've gotten some exercise working on stuff, I haven't really walked or biked anywhere. I feel slothful and lazy.

I think it's catching, too. My winter carrots haven't grown visibly in a week. About half of them have sprouted, though, so I guess that's good. If this doesn't work, I'm going to blame the soil, and build up the bin with a lot of mulch - and raise the bin level a bit, too. I have been good about weeding, both the carrots and the more general garden - though again, not enough. Too much time sitting around and paying attention to fundamentalists, honestly.

But there are flower pictures! People must be getting really sick of this one kind of flower by now, I have to admit - I know I am! But here's the last (I think) of this series [Edit: Oh wait, crap, there's at least one more]:

Yes, these are, in fact, real flowers

And since that's getting boring, here's a different kind, I think this is a dahlia but I'm not sure:

Cells

The whole flower is here:

Untitled

And I just liked the texture of this leafy plant:

Crunchy!

I have a bucket of fuschias that exact same color. The other bucket pales in comparison so I keep them separate in case the lavender/blue ones get pissed.

That's what I thought when I got them for Mother's Day last year. They just don't ... look real, especially that particular color combo.

The hummingbirds like them, so that's all I care about.

Wow...such intense color.
You know, Wallace and Gromit only got a C on the viewers rating thing here, but I'm going to see it tomorrow with my family anyway. The people around here obviously aren't fans/don't know what good stuff is.

It's okay

Is that kale in the last pic? If so, is it that wacky, space-mutant looking kale? I love that stuff.

If it sort of blooms out of itself in tiers of, like, blue, green and purple, then it's the weird alien implant kale I'm talking about. I used to see it all over in Seattle, and thought it was the weirdest stuff. Looked like it should be growing on some SciFi set somewhere.
