I got down to the service centre and picked up my laptop; they think they've fixed the hard drive with some low-level tinkering with utilities I don't have. So far, it's behaving great, so hopefully, they're right! $100 instead of $350 is a trade I can make.

Then I went to murksouth and use HAMMER and ANVIL and BENCH-CLAMP and STEEL to make a better locking system for the carriage-house doors. And it worked! So now there are no accessible parts for anybody to take apart without, say, doing it the old way with a very, very large hammer. Also for good measure, I brought up a bunch more strapping material for securing some of our still-unsecured shelves - most of them are tied down for earthquakes, but a few aren't - and a small selection of other random toys.

Tonight: MONKEYBALL! This was after last night's poker, wherein I rallied at the end to finish up about 40% from start.

But more importantly, after some futzing, I think I have a trick that makes my camera work most of the time. Better than that, [livejournal.com profile] spazzkat has brought me his camera as a loaner for the moment! This means: return of flower pictures for all! Since they've been gone for a while, here's a set of three of the same kind of flower. Three! Three! White! Flowers! Mwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Or something.

And now it is time for a nap. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Monkeyball? I've got Super Monkeyball Jr. on my Gameboy Advance, haven't played that in a long time. Hmm, might take it to work tonight, in case I get tired of knitting & LiveJournal.

That's Morning Glory or Bindweed. That particular form is considered an invasive plant here, but the flowers are pretty, and the seeds will get you wicked high if you eat them. Or so I've heard.

I think it's ipomoea tricolor (the blue sort of morning glory) that's used for the high. Bindweed might also, I'm not sure. But, yeah, it will smother all over everything if you're not careful.
