Anybody know what these are?
Apr. 13th, 2005 02:07 pmBeyond "skis," I mean. Are they any good? Could they be used for downhill skilling? I think they're cross-country. Anyway, they're Dynastar Omega skis, with M48 twincam bindings, and a pair of Scott poles. They look... very 80s. Particularly the poles. Are these good? Should I try to sell them? They're abandonware from 5038 - they were there already, iirc, when we moved in!

Date: 2005-04-14 03:06 pm (UTC)Dynastar is a European brand I don't know much about. They're not common in this country. It sounds like an older pair, so you'd definitely want a ski tech to look them over before you tried to go skiing on them. At the very least you'd need the bindings adjusted to fit your boots.
You could probably get about $75 for the lot, maybe a little more if the skis are in really good condition. Bear in mind though that downhill skis are a bit like electronics; their depreciation rate is ferocious. If they're more than two years old, it's usually more trouble than it's worth to try to sell them.
