Pictures post, mostly
Jan. 8th, 2005 09:49 pmI finally pulled down the pictures of people we knew mostly through the extended LexFA group back in Lexington and made thumbnails and such for the web. Look here if you want to browse those. Meanwhile, below the cut, more pictures!
Okay, so this is Anna's brother Donnie, who was not expecting me to take a picture:

This is a taste treat; an Arby's Exxon. I wonder if they offer biodiesel made from the fry-pit drippings?

I have this theory that a lot of 70s architecture can be explained as "cargo cult futurism;" everybody gave up on everything not going to hell, but they still wanted T3h Future, so maybe they thought, "if we just make things look like they're from the future, the future will magically happen!" Which is how you get things like this:

...which is to say, exposed-timber-frame space stations planted in parking lots. (Note to all packet ninjas: this is a gooooooooood place to stop. ^_^ )

Mostly Pizza Huts and Subway Sandwich shops with a few Arby's or BKs or McDs thrown in for good measure... If I recall correctly, there's one somewhere around the Clearfield/Dubois area off of I-80 (I pass it on my way to Harrisburg)
