Briefly, on the buyout
Jan. 6th, 2005 11:06 amI'm worried, but I'm not bailing out of hand. I think they've already made a couple of mistakes in how they're handling the announcement, which have made reaction worse. I made some additional commentary here, in response to the original news post, if you're interested in seeing that.
The changes between 1.4 and 1.5 (the new version, dated today) of the ToS are highlighted here, courtesy of the Livejournal CVS database.

Date: 2005-01-06 08:00 pm (UTC)I myself will wait to see if it sucks or doesn't suck before I go, I'm paid up till year's end anyway. But the piss poor way it was communicated (I only learned about it thru slashdot and I have not agreed to the new TOS, or even SEEN them), SUCKS. As a paid member it would have been nice to get notified that the service I subscribe to was being sold.

Date: 2005-01-06 09:49 pm (UTC)I don't know if I'll keep paying for an account though. I'd been paying because it was such a small organisation and I felt like I should give something back. Guess I need to find out more about SA before I make that decision (fortunately my paid account lasts until September anyway!)
