Dang, I thought they'd all gone south by now. They gave up on my feeders a few weeks ago. Maybe they're too annoyed by the hanging suet feeders and the constant stream of jays, chickadees and woodpeckers.

They have, unless your house is within half a mile of large water - in which case they'll overwinter. ^_^ Being up where you are, they've probably all headed to Points Warm by now.

I also saw one just sitting on a wire in the U. District last Friday. It was cool.

YAY!!! They've given up on my feeders a long time ago... haven't had money to fill them :(

Four parts water plus one part ordinary household white sugar. Boil the water for five minutes, remove from heat, add the sugar, stir, allow to cool. Commercial nectars are neither necessary nor better.

Lots of people fail to read that wrong.

It says to ask me if you want ME to friend YOU for some specific reason.

Not the other way around. I do a lot of filtering - I post about trauma events and stuff and filter those, and other related posts.
