weird rats confuse me

Kind of creepily weird: there's a rat down at the intersection, a block from my house, running around in circles in the middle of the street. It's daytime. I drove by and it kind of moved the circle path over out of the way, but kept going.

Running, running, running, running, running.

Is there a rat sickness that causes this? Because it's weird.

I was, at the time, bringing Zoe back from the vet, which was a Huge Adventure with Much Larger Birds Like Her. She found this rather intimidating, but seems to have survived well enough.

There’s an inner-ear disorder in mice that causes running in circles. Maybe rats can get it too.

The rat might've gotten some D-Con or something-I've seen mice do that when they've eaten D-Con mouse poison.Scott
